Espresso Update: Q1—2024

I hope this message finds you well. It’s been a while since our last update. Thanks to your unwavering support, we’ve made significant progress with Cidade Colina. Today, I’m thrilled to share the latest developments and how we’re moving forward, together.

Ministry with the Alencars

We’re blessed to partner with the Alencar family from Brazil. Their dedication has been instrumental in our efforts to lay the groundwork for Cidade Colina. A critical step has been drafting our bylaws, a cornerstone document bridging our vision for the church with governmental requirements. This work paves the way for our official recognition as a non-profit and, eventually, as an autonomous church.

Ministry Collaboration

True to our belief, church planting is a collective journey, guided by the Holy Spirit and supported by each of you. Our local Baptist association, AIBEM, and Igreja Bíblica Batista de Santa Marta do Pinhal have joined us in this mission, offering financial support and invaluable guidance.

Temporary Meeting Space

As many of you know, we utilized a cozy café as our meeting space during the winter months. Unfortunately, this space is no longer available to us, leading us to return to the local park instead. Despite the colder temperatures, we’ve been blessed with no rain interruptions. This change, though challenging, has also brought unexpected joys and a deeper sense of community as we bundle up and gather in the beauty of God’s creation.

Arriving at a Church Plant

Our goal to occupy the building by January 2024 has seen some delays, mainly due to contract negotiations with the bank-owned property. We’re navigating these challenges carefully, ensuring our interests as a religious institution are safeguarded. With patience and perseverance, we’re moving closer to making the space in Pamela the official home of Cidade Colina.
